Homework for the lecture on Primes 3/11/04

Perform web (and possibly library) research, and write a brief report on recent developments related to the AKS algorithm discussed in class. Consider the following:

• Papers improving on the AKS algorithm. Summarize briefly the nature of improvement.
  Sample authors: Bernstein, Lenstra, or Pomerance.
• Implementations and experiments with the AKS algorithm. An MS project on it was completed in our department by Takeshi Aoyama. Find others. How do they compare with the project by Takeshi ? Any chance of an improved AKS algorithm becoming practical ?
• General media news related to the algorithm no older than one year.
