ABSTRACT
SUNY Oswego has been using Java in its ACM-style introductory
programming course (CS1) since Fall 1995, and in the second
programming course (CS2) since January 1996. This presentation will
include:
- Rationale and logistics surrounding the introduction of Java.
- How the courses differ so far from those using other
object-oriented programming languages.
- Future plans.
- Speculation about the longer-term effects on CS curricula.
